5 Duffle
A low-grade blanket made from poor quality woollen yarns about 60-in. wide, in all colours, and napped on both sides. The cloth is also known as Down or Flushing, and the Duffle cloth is perhaps the lowest in quality (see Downs) -

Fabrics with plush pile on both sides. Also a knitted material made with two face yarns and a backing yarn which is napped. -
7 Mackinaw Coating
A twill weave over-coating on the double cloth style. Each side is of different colour. The cloth is napped both sides and sometimes proofed. The warp is either all cotton or cotton and wool mixture with about 10 per cent to 15 per cent wool, generally dyed black. The weft is wool and one colour is used for each side. Many designs are plaid effects. One quality is made 72-in. (loom) 38 ends and 48 picks per inch, from two run woollen weft yarn and weighs 30-oz. per yard. -
8 Sommiere
All-wool French serge, very soft, and napped on one or both sides. Used for lining winter garments. It is bleached or piece-dyed.
